News of Hope
Illuminate NC's harm reduction and overdose prevention initiative — bringing naloxone access, education, and community outreach to Wake County and beyond.
Our Harm Reduction Mission
News of Hope is Illuminate NC's community-based harm reduction program. We believe that every life has value, and that meeting people where they are — without judgment — saves lives. We provide naloxone training, overdose response education, and community outreach in partnership with local organizations and public health agencies.
What We Do
Naloxone Distribution
We distribute free naloxone (Narcan) to community members, organizations, and individuals who may encounter an overdose.
Overdose Response Training
We provide hands-on training so community members know how to recognize an opioid overdose and respond quickly and effectively.
Community Outreach
We meet people where they are — at community events, partner sites, and in the field — to reduce barriers to care and connection.
Education & Awareness
We share evidence-based information about opioid safety, harm reduction principles, and available resources.
Naloxone Box Locations
Illuminate NC has placed naloxone distribution boxes at community locations throughout Wake County. These boxes provide free, accessible naloxone to anyone who needs it — no questions asked.
